In 1970’s Aurora Philippines is part of Quezon province, it was named after Mrs. Ma. Aurora Aragon-Quezon,
wife of the late Philippine commonwealth president. It is discovered in the
late 1960’s .Aurora province has a total land area of 323,954 hectares and as
of census 2012 it has 187,802 population. The climate of Aurora is distinguish by
rainfall which is evenly divided throughout the year, since aurora province is facing the Pacific
Ocean, so that it doesn’t have any barriers
to protect the province from the
coming of typhoons from the east. 273.9 millimeters is the average rainfall per
month. August is the said driest month, while January, February, April,
October and November has the heaviest
rains. It has a 25.3 degrees Celsius of monthly temperature. June and July is
the heartfelt month with a temperature of 30-33 degrees Celsius while the
coldest months was January and February with a temperature of 19.3 to 20.4
degree Celsius.
Aurora is one of the province
that is sanctified with a plenty of tourist attractions. Its natural tourist
attractions consist of waterfalls, verdant
greenery on the mountainsides and panoramic beaches. It has a historical site such as home of the
former President Manuel L. Quezon, a sacred Catholic church and some historical
marks. It is one of the beach paradise
for surfers in the philippines, because of its long Pacific coastline that is
out in the open to the pacific ocean. Tourist can enjoy some activities here
like scuba diving, surfing, snorkeling, and mountain climbing.
Aurora is the
birthplace of late Philippine 1st Commonwealth President
Manuel L. Quezon. It has a beaches and falls that can be found in
different towns here in aurora. This province is headed by the provincial
Governor Bellaflor Angara Castillo and
Vice Governor Gerardo Noveras. Residents
in the province can speak Tagalog, Ilokano, Kasiguranin, Kapampangan.
Agriculture is the primary
production in Aurora, they employed around half of the population. 15% of the
province land area are consist of the cultivated land. Rice, bananas, citrus
fruits, peanuts, abaca, corn, coffee was their major crops. Coconut has 23, 285
hectares in the land production while Pineapple, eggplant and cassava is some of the
minor crops.
Aurora also has many poultry and livestock. The biggest
poultry was chicken and the livestock produced are ducks and swines. Eventhough
there are large number of carabaos, most of these are use in farming.
Forestry and fishing are another major industry, 74% of the province land area can be classified
as the forest areas. The province make use of the forest products as sabutan,
nito, luknoy and rattan. Among eight municipalities, the seven that lie along the coastal
area and
around one-third of the population of aurora province that is located along the coastline are
reliant on the fishing industry.
Aurora is also gifted with a vast
of natural resources that could sustain numerous industries. The province is
rich in sabutan, coconuts , nipa, gravel, wood, rattan, shell. But these
resources remain largely unused because of lack of investment. It is rich in
mineral deposits, metallic such as copper, iron, chromate, gold and nickel that
is rich especially in the Sierra Madre. Non-metallic including black sand,
cement, marble, silica, carbon.
Aurora is divided into eight
Municipalities, namely Baler, Dipaculao, Casiguran, Dingalan, Maria
aurora, San Luis, Dinalungan and Dilasag.
